Events for March 26, 2010

  • Barber Shop Quartet
    On Friday, March 26th at 10:45 the Barber Shop Quartet will be performing at the Laconia Senior Center, 17 Church Street Laconia, NH 03246 (603)524-7689


  • Boston Bruins vs. Carolina Hurricanes
    The Franklin Parks and Recreation Department will be taking a trip to the TD Banknorth Garden for the Bruins vs. Carolina Hurricanes game on Saturday, April 10th. The game begins at 1:00pm and the bus will be departing from the Franklin Recreation Center at 10:00am. All tickets must be paid in full by Friday, March 26th.. The cost for this trip is $70.00 (which includes coach bus transportation and game ticket). We will be taking a maximum of 50 individuals; children twelve and under must be accompanied by an adult. To register please stop by the Parks and Recreation Department office for a registration form or go online to www.franklinnh.org.


  • Legislative Breakfast
    Once again this year, on Friday, March 26, at 8:00 a.m. Lakes Region Community College, in partnership with the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting a Legislative Breakfast, bringing together local legislators with business, community, and education leaders to discuss issues critical to the economic development of the region. The economy and the State budget will continue to present major challenges for the State's leadership as well as for its businesses and educational institutions. During times such as this, partnerships, cooperation, and clear communication become more important than ever. Please join us for a discussion on the current business climate in the Lakes Region and the important roles played by our legislative delegation, the Chamber, and the College in ensuring the most effective and coordinated response possible to our changing economic world. In addition to the Chamber's Board of Directors and Chamber Members, we are also inviting representatives from the Community College System's Board of Trustees and the College Advisory Board, made up of business and community leaders from throughout the region. The Legislative Breakfast will be held in Room 216 of the Center for Arts Technology building. Please RSVP to Karen Kurz at kkurz@ccsnh.edu or at 603-524-3207. We hope you will be able to attend.


  • Monarchs Game To Benefit State Scholars
    The NH State Scholars Program at Winnisquam Regional High School is selling tickets to the Saturday March 27th Manchester Monarchs at the Verizon Wireless arena in Manchester. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for kids with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Scholars Program. Tickets are available in the Winnisquam High School office or call Sonia at 286-4531.


  • Pemi Valley Fish & Game Annual Meeting
    The Pemigewasset Valley Fish and Game Club will be holding its annual spring pot-luck dinner at the clubhouse at 295 Beede Road in Holderness at 6:00 PM on Friday, March 26th. Bring a main dish, salad or dessert. The cost is $5 for adults and $2 for youth age 10. Brief annual elections and awards will follow and the evening program will be presented by officials from New England Disabled Sports with headquarters in Lincoln. They will discuss the importance of the program they have developed for disabled persons in the New England region and the significance of the biathlon and shooting events in cooperation with the Pemi club.
